Trophies
and Awards

Each year clubs and swimmers within the SCAT District
compete for a number of trophies and awards.
|
|
|
| President's Cup |
Awarded to the Club which wins the pointscore competition
at the SCAT Championships. |
- Points will be scored in all events at the SCAT Championships.
- Points shall be awarded as follows: 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 for
first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth place.

| CAGA Handicap Trophy |
Awarded to the Club which wins the handicap pointscore
competition at the SCAT Championships |
- Points will be scored in all events at the SCAT Championships.
- Clubs will be handicapped according to the pointscore results achieved
in the President's Cup competition in the previous year.
- The Handicap points start will be based on the number of points
scored by the Club which wins the President's Cup in the previous
Season. (Base figure) This Club will be the scratch Club and will
have Zero points start.
- The other Clubs' Handicap Points start will be based on this figure
and the average actual points scored for the previous two years, further
adjusted in order to cushion the seasonal rises and falls.
- A Club in their first year or one who did not compete in the Championships
the previous year will be allotted a Handicap of 50% of the highest
handicap Points start.
- In order to Qualify for the Trophy, a Club must have at least 3
swimmers competing, who must score at least 20 points.

| M. & V. Smith Trophies
|
Two trophies to be awarded, one each to a male and a female swimmer.
To the swimmer who achieves the "Swim of the Meet" at the
SCAT Championships
|
- The "Swim of the Meet" shall be achieved by the person
who swims closest (as a percentage) to a State Record time in any
individual event at the SCAT Championships.

| Neil Stringer Award
|
Two scholarships to be awarded, one each to a male and a female swimmer
in the 13-14 years age group.
To the swimmer in who achieves the highest pointscore result over the
summer season.
|
Age shall be as at May 01 in the relevant year. Only swimmers aged
13 or 14 as at that date shall be eligible.
Points shall be awarded as follows:
- At the SCAT Championships 5, 3, 1 points will be awarded in the
five individual Age events to swimmers coming first, second and third.
- At the SCAT Sprint Championships 5, 3, 1 points will be awarded
in the five individual Age events to swimmers coming first, second
and third.
- At the NSW Country Championships points will be awarded to swimmers:
- in the four events in which they achieve their best placings.
Points will be awarded as follows: 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 for
first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth
place.
- At the NSW Age Championships points will be awarded to swimmers:
- for qualifying -10 points for each event contested.
- in the four events in which they achieve their best placings.
Points will be awarded as follows: 50, 40, 30, 25, 20, 15, 10,
5 for first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and
eighth place.
- At the Australian Age Championships points will be awarded to swimmers:
- for qualifying - 20 points for each event contested.
- in the four events in which they achieve their best placings.
Points will be awarded as follows: 100, 80, 60, 50, 40, 30, 20,
10 for first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and
eighth place.

Age Champions.
|
Two awards to be made in each age group, one each to a male and a female
swimmer. |
The Age Champion shall be determined by a pointscore based on individual
events swum at the SCAT Championships.
Age groups shall be 8 & Under, 9 & 10, 11 & 12, 13 &
14, 15 & Over and Open.
The Age Championships will be scored on results in the Age 100 metre
events in Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly and Freestyle and 200
metre Individual Medley. (For swimmers aged 17 & Over competing
in the 15 & Over age group Freestyle points shall be awarded based
on placings amongst 17 & Over swimmers in the Open 100 metre Freestyle.)
The 8 & Under Age Championship will be scored on results in the
50 metre events in Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly and Freestyle.
The Open Age Championship will be scored on results in the Open 100
metre events in Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly and Freestyle, in
the Open 200 metre events in Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly,
and in the Age 200 metre Freestyle events.

SCAT Interclub Trophy and Archie and Anne Walker Trophy
|
An award made to the Club achieving the highest poinstcore in the annual
SCAT Interclub Competition.
The Archie and Anne Walker Trophy will be awarded to the Club achieving
the highest pointscore in the Development level of the annual SCAT Interclub
Competition

The SCAT Interclub Competition shall be contested over the summer season.
- Clubs may request to compete in either an Open, or a Development
level of competition each season. Allocation to each level shall be
determined by the SCAT Swim Committee, based on a number of factors
including, but not limited to - Interclub record, number of registered
members, standard of registered swimmers.
- These two levels of competition to contain approximately equal
numbers of clubs and to be run concurrently.
- Clubs will not be moved between levels during any one summer
season.
- Regardless of the grading of the club, points will be allocated
to the club for each swimmer competing in any SCAT sanctioned
meet over the summer season.
- The age of competitors shall be that of each of the swim meets sanctioned
by SCAT for this competition.
- Competitors shall compete for the Club for which they are first
claim members as at the date of each SCAT sanctioned meet.
- Points will be awarded over individual events scored separately
for males and females.
- Points shall be awarded in the age groupings specified in clause
6 across all events contested as follows:

- Club Meets shall be all meets, sanctioned by SCAT, hosted
by SCAT District clubs over the summer season.
- SCAT Meets shall consist of the SCAT Championships, the
SCAT Sprint Meet, the SCAT Development Meet and the SCAT District
Heats of the Speedo Sprint Series, plus such other meets as may
be hosted by SCAT during the course of a summer season.
- Competing clubs will be awarded points for each relay team entered,
which completes the course, at SCAT sanctioned meets. This will be
at the rate of 5 points per team at each Club Meet, and 10 points
per team at each SCAT Meet.
- The result of the Competitions shall be determined by the aggregate
of points scored by each Club over the summer season at the meets
specified in 7.1 and 7.2.

Vi Schofield Trophy
|
Awarded to the Club winning the annual March Past competition. |
A March Past competition shall be held annually at a date
and venue to be determined by the SCAT Executive on the recommendation
of the Swim Committee. |
